Hi, any advice with regard to importing a car to UK from Germany.
As I see it I have 4 options
1. Pay a company to complete the whole process from collecting the car, organising import documents and even completing work to prep for UK use.
Not my preferred option due to cost and the thought of an unknown garage working on an A2
2. Hire a flat bed transporter and drive over, collect the car and complete the import process when the car is in the UK
3. Have towbar fitted to my car, hire a trailer then copy the option 2
4. Try and understand the system in Germany (Ausfuhrkennzeichen) whereby you can request temporary registration, import plates and insurance which would be enough for me to fly to Hanover and drive the car back.
Whilst option 4 sounds the easiest and cheapest I cannot find any info on how quick the process takes.
