  1. Today no problem with the car. All gears OK. The only reason that I no can think of is that when the problem occured it was the first night with minus degrees. I think I have seen that some other A2 member had a problem with the gearbox when it was minus degrees. Water in the "gangsteller" ? Any one have that have had this problem ? MFG Kurt Myhr
  2. This morning when I left home the car didn’t change gear to 3th or 4th gear .5 gear I don’t know ! Reverse gear OK . First and second gear OK. Checked SSP 221 so a reason could be that engagement of valve 2 for the gate selector didn’t work. (see SSP221). Reason for that could be cable harness problem, connector problem,,,, Today it was also the first day with minus temperature. Any one that have had this problem or have a good idea where to searche for the problem. Answer in german if easier. MFG Myhr
  3. Hi First sorry for writing in English) I have had the same problem. Reason was that the armature (moving part) hit the iron core ( the part that winding is wind around) before both contact on the hazard warning light relay closed ( relay with 2 contact in blink relay unit). I bent the fixed contact upward to fix it. BR Kurt
  4. After doing Basic setting (with gear lever in correct postion !!) the car started . I think "the system" didn't like that I started the car with putting 12v to terminal 50.
  5. Thanks " Der Weise" . What a misstake from me !! I was irretated as I couldn't find why the car didn't work. Will make the "basic setting " and see what happens, I am not that hopeful.
  6. Audi A2 1,2tdi 2002 starter doesn’t turn. Help Problem description. Suddenly the starter didn’t turn. My first thought was failure in the starter. I disconnected terminal 50 on the starter and put 12v on. The starter didn’t engage. Failure was no connection between the pull in winding and starter (bad torque nut on solenoid). Now when fixed and connecting 12 v to terminal 50 on the starter (normal cable disconnected) the car starts. But not through turning the ignition key. So one or more criteria for start are not fulfilled and no failure codes are set. When moving the gear shift lever from P to R the gear is not changed on the gearbox, nothing moves. Tried to do a basic setting, when doing “Gear Actuation Adaption”, block 14 field 1 says “Ing off!” where is should change from WAIT to ADJUST. What could be the failure? Ingition key terminal 15 failure ? Something with power supply to the gearbox ECU? ??? HELP ! Where is the starter relay located? Answer in German if easier. MFG Kurt Myhr
  7. Problem solved. Thanks for all good advice!! Problem was the pressure accumulator. I have never changed the unit as I mentioned earlier. The car has now made approx. 280Kkm and I bought it when it made aprox. 11Kkm MFG Kurt Myhr

  9. The engine stop very seldom because of the start/stop function even in eco mode as in Sweden you always have the light on (day running light) and others loads. (One condition for engine stop at start/stop is load factor alternator below 55 %). So engine runs, when hitting the accelerator the engine don’t react it continues idling and car doesn’t move. Haven’t tested number of times I can change gear before the hydraulic pump start lately and never changed pressure accumulator. Will do change pressure accumulator and see what that brings.
  10. Artur Normally in a traffic jam I just hit the footbrake and leave the gear lever in D position. Then I know it happens that the car will not move after a long time in that situation. (long time some minutes).My son says it has happen even when he put the gear I N position, but that I haven’t experienced.
  11. Hi my german is not so good so I have written in English and than Google translated. Can see a lot of errors in the tarnslation but hopefully possible to understand ! First English variant When in a traffic jam so the car will idle for a long time, after that the car doesn’t move. I have to disconnect the battery and after that the car works again. If I stop the engine in this state the car doesn’t start before I have disconnected the battery. I haven’t been able to read out any failure code as this happens in traffic and after disconnection of the battery the code will be erased. The car works normally if I am not coming in this “long idling”. The only thing that is not normal is that the car starts, before I believe the hydraulic pressure has built up. This means that engine runs but no gears will engage directly. If I wait to start the engine until the hydraulic pumps stop that gears will engage directly. I have made basic setting recently and checked hydraulic oil level. Any idea what is the reason? Can it be something with hydraulic pressure measurement? Deutsch-Variante Wenn in einem Verkehrsstau, so wird das Auto für längere Zeit im Leerlauf laufen, nach, dass das Auto bewegt sich nicht.   13. Hi Yes pump is runnning and building up pressure. I haven’t measured the actual pressure. But according to pressures sender OK both voltage at stop (high pressure) and start (low pressure). I have also checked by not putting in the locking pin (sicherungfeder) 085142419 and the blue hydraulic line is leaving the “Gangsteller” and jet of oil is jetting out. When I took the hydraulic lines out I didn’t make a photo but wrote on a paper that the blue line should be at the top of the “gangsteller” . BUT now I am not 100% sure. So anyone knowing if the pressure line should be at the top or bottom on the “gangsteller” ?
  14. See picture. I dismounted the control arm (see picture) and the cap mounted with 3 screws. The control arm and the rocker /wippe ( see VAG's SSP221 page 15) are connected through a shaft on the control arm which has splines without any given position. I thought when dissamtling that they had a given postion so one could just mount in one position ! Question is how should they be positioned against each other? /Myhr
  15. Wippe/stellhebel für schaltgasse richtig einstellen an gangsteller My German is so bad so I will try in English, but answer in German if easier. I changed all O-rings , gaskets ,,, on the “gangsteller”. I also dismounted the “schaltgasse stellhebel” gate selector arm. The Gate selector shaft was mounted to the rocker on splines with no given position. (see SSP 221 page 15 English or German). Someone knowing how to mount Control lever/rocker “Stellhebel/wipe” in the right position to each other? MFG Myhr
  16. Mark and LUPO3L thank you for your hints. Here status Hydraulic oil level filled according to instruction in non-pressurized status. Shift rod on the gearbox possible to move Car on lift so wheels can turn freely All sensors connected O-ring ,gasket in the hydraulic system recently changed More than 2 minutes between pump start in ignition on position. Clutch position sender adjusted to specified value. Gate selector adjusted in the Wait –Adjust sequence of basis setting. No failure codes before starting of basic setting. When starting the sequence “0-28” clutch is operated at certain point in the sequence (means that there is hydraulic pressure ,on can also see that on sender G270), on can here solenoid valves on the “gangsteller “operates but no movement. The program runs true the “0-28” twice and stops at step 28 and sets RTFM. My thought is that there is dirt in the “gangsteller” pressure in port (Blue hydraulic line). Any other ideas ?
  17. My German is so bad so I will try in English, but answer in German if easier. The “gangsteller” doesn’t move during “basic setting” (during the 0-28 steps). I can hear the valves on the gangsteller” is operating but no movement. The clutch is is moving during the basic setting. What could be the reason ??? Background information. I have had problem with “No start in S position of gearlever”. I decided to take away the gearbox and change “fuhrungshulse”. The “fuhrungshulse” was broken so , it was the right decision to take the gearbox away. (Changed also clutch at the same time, but the clutch would probably worked for many more years). I left the “gansteller “ electrical connected during the work. When I connected the battery and with ignition on hydraulic oil was leaking out of the “gangsteller”! (The leak was at the famous gasket). That hasn’t happened before and nothing was changed during that the gearbox was taken away and put back. Why could this happen? The leak stopped suddenly ! Made a “basic setting” but the “gansteller” didn’t move during the step 0-28 ! Bought a new gasket, and after that I made a “basic setting” no change the “gansteller” didn’t move ,clutch moved , could hear the solenoid valves operated during the (0-28) steps. What could be the reason? I have check all “measuring block” and everything seem OK. Hydraulic is correct connected. Mit einer Hoffning auf gute Ideen /Myhr

    Help no movement of “gangsteller” !! Background At last I decide to take away the gearbox to change the ”guide for the clutch bearing” as I had just “start in N” and yes it was broken. Changed clutch ,bearing, and “guide”.(fuhrungshulse) Put the gearbox back filled the hydraulic oil , connected the battery. Hydraulic oil was coming out from the “gangsteller” where the gasket is !! Haven’t happened before !! Disconnected the battery and check , tightened the screws on the “gansteller”. Connected the battery ,still leaking but suddenly the leak stopped! Tried to do a basic setting but no movement of the “gangsteller” !! Took the” gangsteller away and changed the gasket. Still no movment on the “gangsteller”, Clutch working so hydraulic pressure ok. On can here the solenoid vales are working during “basic setting” but “gansteller “doesn’t move. Checked all measuring block and found no failure. WHY ? -Dirt in the hydraulic circuit ? -Other reason ? BR/MFG Kurt Myhr

    Hallo "Karat 21" It seems that I have to take away the gearbox and check the "Führungshülse". I read through the "startet nur in N (mit auflösungen). Probably I have the same problem and than it is logical that the cars starts in N but not in S/P /Kurt
  21. Starting only in N position First excuse me for not writing in German, I do understand but writing is too difficult. So please answer in German if easier. Background I haven’t use my A2 1.2tdi for a while so I took the car one day and it work perfect. I parked the car and when I should start again after 2 hours I couldn’t start. Battery Ok. I tried to start with gearshift in N position but without success. I disconnected the battery for 10-20 sec but no change. I had to take the car home on a trailer. I went for holiday for one week and when I came back I tried to start the car, it started but only in N position of the gearlever! I read out failure codes , many failure codes but none on the gearbox. I deleted all failure codes and tested again .(The battery have been flat so many codes where related to that) These failures codes remains. Hope you can read have, translated the codes that I think is relevant from Swedish. More background I repaired the” gearbox control” some month ago, hydraulic oil leakage in , play in “gate control arm” after that I made a “Basic setting “ of the gearbox. Only failure that I know of except “staring just I N” is “Oil temp/level” sensor (G266) Here I hope for some help -Why start only I N position -Because of the failure codes “Intermittent erors” ? -Some kind of safety function in the software of the gearbox ECU when there are failure codes saved related to gearbox -Will a new basic setting help ? -Any idea why intermittent errors ? - Where to search? Connector error? -Other reason(s) ? BR/MFG /Kurt Myhr

  23. Stefan Thanks See www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_221.pdf . at page 8 bottom left circle. Do you mean that nut ? On an Audi the hole is oval so it is adjustable. What I can see in the SSP 221 document it seems that on a Lupo 3L the gate linkage is adjustable. Part nr is also different between an Audi A2 and a Lupo 3L /Myhr
