  1. First; I'm sorry this turns out in a English conversation and also it's off topic!

    Correct, the A8 D2 rims are forged rims, have a flat back and can be considered very strong to add some other lochkreis. I would not consider making extra lug holes in a normal cast rim.

    As an example a picture from a company which alters rims for autocross:

    Screenshot_20211109_200343.thumb.jpg.6984d4c0844ded7436bf9bb72a5481c7.jpg

    It's an A3 pepperpot. Would you install it?

    I would not, but on a light vehicle on a track it can widstand incredible forces without deforming, and shows how strong forged rims are (also note the extra created lochkreis, 5x130 in this case).

    Personally I don't want adapters, I don't mind if people are using them.

    Another lochkreis in forged rims is secure, although others will say; no it is not.

    It's a conversation which has no end, and I'm not going there anymore.

    Oh, just to tease......😜 Picture;

    There is a guy in Finland who drilled additional 5x112 into the hub. Problem solved,  maybe not legal in Germany 🤓

    There's a guy in Holland too.......

    There's a lot to say for it (and said about it!), each to their own.

    The forged flatbacked rims are no use (to me) if I would use them with a heavy adapter.

    Call me ignorant or careless or dangerous to society...... Well, I better don't post a solo picture of the 5x100/5x112 rim('s).

    They are under my A2's for 3+ years.

  3. Well, that's a pity and asks for measurements 😉

    So, here's my AMF with, again A8 D2 winterfelgen, although different in design and equipped with 5 speed MZN Bluemotion gearbox and remapped ECU.

    And since those rims should also weigh 6.1Kg according to above mentioned website and because they are now on the shelf in the Shed, I thought it was nice to weigh them personally;

    6,37Kg, so not far off but certainly not spot on......

    With summer tyre size 195/50-16 they weigh around 14,6Kg on the scales.

    Tyre brand, size and what kind(XL and/or wintertyre) will be of influence on weight ofcourse.

    Oh! :o I'm amazed info on mentioned site (being a German site, which can be considered Grundlich...) is not correct......

    Next opportunity I will personally weigh them with some scales.

    This 2-step rhythm can happen if MWB 23 is out of range.

    Have you swapped EU3 injectors to a EU4 engine? (or EU4 inj. to EU3 engine?)

    This can be fixed if you adjust the idle duration map, I had this exact problem when I ran EU3 injectors without adjusting the BIP map correctly.

    @biohaufen Hero, can you tell some more how to alter and/or change the BIP map.

    My ATL develops the same 2-step idle character when changed to remap/tuning software!

    Apparantly something is changed in the hardware department of my car.....

    In the end swapped back to former software and all was fine again.

    The `reference` Lupo with 200+ HP has injectors with bigger holes.

    This setup has some issues at idle which I'd like to avoid.

    Currently more power is not really needed. I simply need to find out how quick the car currently is.

    VVT fitted a 4pot flywheel, this was necessary to make the 400NM clutch setup fit.

    I am not aware of gearbox (`GRJ`) chatter; I do notice a small idle issue where the 'roudness' of the engine's rhythm can go to a  two-step rhythm.

    A little throttle fixes this.

    A 1.9 engine will not have this issue I guess.

    A question about the 4pot flywheel.

    In my search for a replacement SMF flywheel (to ditch the ATL DMF,) I'd understand that a 4 pot SMF is creating (unwanted) unbalancing of the 3 pot....... that's why I installed an AMF SMF, which unfortunely only takes a small diameter (215mm) clutch.

    I take it you're driven your tuned set up, or enough at least, to say if there's vibration in any of the rev range? Woul'd you be so kind to give info what 4pot flywheel (partnumbers) is used and/or if the flywheel is re-balanced for a 3pot?

    Thanx!

    Hi menno welcome to the owners group , I’d like to say thankyou for your thanks and feel free to message for any future help as glad to help out fellow owners , being English myself I use google translate but at times it does twist words and there meanings sometimes.
    regards Jigsaw

    Thanx too Mr Wilson! Saw on the English part of this site there will be another 1.9tdi build comming up,........ Keep posting about it, I like it mucho!

    To All the lovely A2 Freunde: Thanx for the warm welcome! :heart-32pix:

  8. Hello dear A2 Friends.

    I'm really sorry to write in English, but if I did in German it would be unreadable for sure.............

    My name is Menno from the Netherlands and I'm on my 3rd A2 now. Again a tdi version with an ATL engine (year 2005) in Kristallblau.

    Also an 2003 AMF version in Amulettrot is in my possesion, although it's for sale (you can find it on Autoscout24).

    The red AMF has a MZN Bluemotion gearbox and is running very nice. It's a pity it's only classified as Euro3 and therefore not allowed in certain cities here in Holland.

    The blue ATL now has a 6 speed gearbox and a Single Mass Flywheel (thanx to @JIGSAW 2015for posting interesting material on this subject!), and l've just finished changing the crank bearing cap bolts to 12.9 strenght, together with a oilpump chain/sprocket/tensioner and timing kit.

    I will continue to read articles here, although it's taking some time for me because of my lack of understanding German (did not payed enough attention in school, mea culpa).

    Tchuss!

  9. Hello all! Sorry to reply in English.... If you don't mind;

    I'm Menno from the Netherlands, this my first posting and this subject triggered me to become a member an react on it.

    I bought a febi kit with 3 sprockets and bought the 4th sprocket from the far east.

    When the Febi kit arrived it was defective (one of the guide rail was broken loose). I returned the kit and ordered a Borsehung with 4 sprockets.

    The quality comparison is there. The Borsehung sprocket is well made in comparison with the Chinese one, and was to be expected.....

    Top sprocket Chinese, bottom one Borsehung;

    IMG_20210303_174631.jpg

    It's clear that the top gear is coarser, also the teeth are wider in radius and are sharper........ Almost would think it's been used.
