  1. a2-701; I'll get them up, I'm trying to work out how to get the videos to play also :o

karat21; not quite, 150km south from there ;)

Istvan; the route back was roughly this -

    Stockholm

    Mariestad

    Kongsvinger

    Lillestrom

    Lillehammer

    Oslo

    Fredrickstad

    Gothenburg

    Malmo

    Copenhagen

    Kolding

    Oldenzaal

    Arnhem

    Leeuwarden

    Lelystad

    Hoek van Holland

  2. 9600km after my Longlife service at Rinner the oil light has come on; not too bad I think. How much should I top up with? In the past I've stuck with 0.5l although my Passat takes 1l, I figure the A2 holds less oil overall so the min>max figure is less also.

  3. .....and I'm home.

For such a brilliantly designed car the :censored: dipstick is :censored: :censored: and :censored:'s me off no end, especially when it's the middle of the night, you're not quite sure where you are and the car now smells hot & bothered. Was it wrong to start planning what engine would replace it......? Maybe not quite as bad as having all the dash lights illuminate and warning bongs go off while travelling at 160km/h...or possibly the wobble on the front being bad enough to have to slow down for and thus missing the Hel>Sto ferry (good job I hadn't booked it :o) but when I did get there I saw a white A2 (and hopefully some unusual pics from the crossing if they come out ok ;) ).

I missed the mini meet in Gothenburg :(

I'll sort pics & vids as soon as I can.

Thanks to Bret for nudging in the right direction and to everyone else for the atmosphere

  4. No probs, I'm just off to Asda for the Theakston's, some anti-seasickness tablets and some more thermals.

The A2 has so much useful that I end up thinking I'm wasting it if it's not fully loaded every trip....so much for lightweight

  5. ohyes: I'd recommend you have some sunglasses with you ;)

Remember that snow reflects 90% of UV, too!

I got a cheap set of factor 3s today (& some woolly wellies :o).

Normal shopping mostly done, checking alco prices.

Weincontor Berner; Newcastle Brown Ale 24 x 0,35lt 14.45 Is that ok? 500ml bottles are £1.70 each here atm.

Re wobble; dogbone made a big improvement, still a bit there though and it gets worse around 120km/h ?( I'm wondering if it's the nearside front engine mount but I probably won't get a chance to do anything.

  6. The more I look at where to go after Stockholm the less clear I am about what to do...it works that I either end up with a couple of days left or needing a couple more:mad:

I can bring some cheap Audi rear window treatment & Audi car care gift packs if anyone wants, I've got a case of each :(

Right, back to GoogleMaps & viamichelin...

  7. Feck, they okayed mine to -30 in December :(

I checked the strength today, it was off the scale :D:cool:

Also found the oil caps round the wrong way and the engine oil cap is an old part number

Also found lots of scratches on the back of the car and on the windscreen :mmph:

  8. I've a few sets of thermals, fleeces, jackets with fleece inners, a couple of hats & balaclava, jogging bottoms & overtrousers, hike-type boots...only one pair of gloves atm though...

The only time I've been in -toomuch was when I worked in a freezer; that got down to -56 with windchill from the fans

It was 15 years ago and the memory fades...

Looking at Field & Trek atm :)

er... go to Field and Trek and get yourself a pair of the Karrimor Winter trousers. They are padded / insulated and good with a pair of Longjohns for what you need. I know because I have a pair and they're rather good, especially for £20 or so. The Snow boots may also be decent - you won't need to walk in *that* much deep snow unless you're following me around, but for that I also have padded / insulated wellingtons. The boots have the advantage of being waterproof up to the ankle or so which is what you want when it decides to thaw again, like it did today.

F&T also have decently priced down jackets.
