Fingers crossed I'll be lucky with the weather here this week; http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2601?&search=maidstone&itemsPerPage=10®ion=world but looking at Munich...well, it'll remind of days driving aircooleds! http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/53?&search=munich&itemsPerPage=10®ion=world This is an idea I'll have to try and copy; https://a2-freun.de/forum/photoplog/file.php?n=11373&w=o

I was trying to get it closed better for the journey to Rinner http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15389

If a combined rain/dimming mirror from another car can be used that'll be an elegant solution. I see on ebay also you can get coming home/leaving home modules... Who'll be first to retrofit Park Assist? :D
-
Well, if it wasn't broken it certainly is now; first of all I couldn't get the lh side closed properly, in trying to do this the rh side has now broken so the roof is now up about 5-10mm all round Has anyone driven with a roof like this, will it be safe?

GRA (Geschwindigkeitsregelanlage) nachrüsten
nuttinnew antwortete auf A2 speedster's Thema in Ausstattungen & Umbauten
Which of these would I use for an AUA bj2002? -
I've just ordered some Nightbreaker Plus H3 & H7, will let you know how I get on
-
Do you have any pictures of the sub in the boot?
-
I didn't drive when the snow was like that, just passengeered a Touareg My A2 is tucked in the garage with a broken oss atm, I can't quite get it shut and I miss not being able to take it out The practice in it would be good but practice in a different car is better than nothing.
-
More good news, I don't know if it's good or bad that three other A2s were there for OSS repair as well though! My last service (oil change) was only 2000km ago using genuine Audi parts but I'd been expecting to pay for the repair, so if I end up with a service and repair for the same money I was expecting to spend it's still not a bad result
-
Haha I drive on your side of the road quite often so I'm ok with that, it's driving 1200km with loose OSS that worries me Also Googlemaps show it as a 12uhr journey...that's at the Geschwindikeitsbeschrenkung (is that correct?) and without stops or bad weather...it could easily then be 16:( This is the route I'll probably take, apart from Calais I haven't been to anywhere on it before http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=gravesend&daddr=Demmeljochstra%C3%9Fe+50,+83646+Bad+T%C3%B6lz,+Germany+(Autohaus+Rinner)&geocode=FfLuEAMdNaAFACk_C45WErTYRzF1DoXNYEfLSg%3BFc-Y2AIdTXmwACHPnoP3ljPTMQ&hl=en&mra=ls&doflg=ptk&sll=49.587405,6.07872&sspn=4.992764,14.227295&ie=UTF8&ll=49.59647,6.053467&spn=4.992036,14.227295&z=7 Sorry, a bit off-topic there:o

A small price to pay I'm nervous about the drive down but quite looking forward to the trip, Bad Toelz should be like a Christmas card I've never driven to that part of the world before either so that'll be a new experience as well, I've got to say Googlemaps is very handy for looking at places to explore
-
Excellent news! Sadly for me the last service wasn't at Audi, I wonder how big a service it needs to qualify (it will only need an oil change next service)?
-
I'm going to Rinner 20-12-10 I will probably have to pay for the repairs because I do not have 100% Audi service history (99%, the last was at an independent garage). For me it's worth the journey, I haven't found anything I'd like to replace the A2 with yet (apart from an FSI or TDI ), the closest being a Skoda Roomster but the glass doesn't open (on the plus side at least it can't stop opening....). I would prefer not to have so far to get it repaired but I don't have any option
-
Haha, I wish I was on an Easyjet flight at the weekend and there's an article on Finland in the in-flight magazine. It's fate I'm sure...
-
It's not so far, not to have a fully working OSS I only had the car serviced 1500km ago, not at Audi though Still, another service will probably be cheaper than the cost of repairs
-
I'm checking Easyjet for flights; not bad at all I'd rather drive but if I end up with no other option it's certainly cheap enough to do
-
The only problem I can see with that is that it is only valid on certain days; Travemünde > Helsinki Februar: 6., 7., 13., 14., 20., 21., 27., 28. Helsinki > Travemünde Februar: 3., 6., 10., 13., 17., 20., 24., 27.

BAD NEWS My employers are now being awkward about the extra week off now saying if I don't take by the end of the year I'll lose it (which has always been the way but it suited them for me to carry a week over) I'll still need the !@*% roof fixed and a week off in February won't be long enough...I am not very happy at the moment
-
Well it broke on Friday night I'm going to try and get the Audi local dealership interested in repairing it, if not I will be booking a trip to Bad Tolz...it's only 1200km from me Oh well, I've got five days holiday left this year... On a happier note;

Suspension ride height measurements please
nuttinnew antwortete auf nuttinnew's Thema in Fahrwerk, Reifen und Felgen
Hmm, lots of good info there:cool: Am I correct in thinking that if a gas shock effectively increases the spring rate I need to run a lower spring rate to get it to sit & ride the same as standard? -
Suspension ride height measurements please
nuttinnew antwortete auf nuttinnew's Thema in Fahrwerk, Reifen und Felgen
Thanks Simon, I'll have a read through that now -
I've recently fitted Monroe Reflex dampers to my 1.4 petrol SE and the ride height has ended up at fr 36mm rr 34mm (I forgot to measure the height before I started). I measured the ride height the ride height of a standard sport to compare and that was 35mm fr & rr. I figure the front dampers have had the same effect as FSDs and raised the front so fitted Weitec front springs at the weekend but after 200km it's only come down 5mm to 35.5. Shitting elk still Does anyone have any measurements of any suspension setups to compare? I'd like to get it sitting level again! Mfg
