I fiited my Nightbreaker Plus on 18.12.10 @ 71k miles and they are definitely better than the bulbs that were already fitted but they were a mixed set so maybe not the best comparison. Short of a hid kit I'm happy with them, glad I fitted them, now to see how long they last after 15k miles without problems from the old bulbs...

A pass is always good news Kane, in what direction did you adjust the topmount against the drag, I'm interested to try this

Can you use the kit for the 3B Passat in the A2? It would nice if it's possible, I have a new kit here I didn't fit to my Passat -
I like that, doesn't look too low either

I guess because I'm neither German nor Finnish I couldn't join anyway Getting the Thursday ferry would mean I wouldn't have to have Monday & Tuesday off, they could be saved for a long weekend to the Nurburgring later in the year I'm thinking ferry up, stay Sat>Tue and take the long drive home, I have to do the drive, I couldn't live with myself if I missed rthe opportunity

I've read half of this thread....ok ok, more jobs to do now -
Nagah, pics of the B6 & KAWs please:D I'm quite happy with mine (Monroe Reflex dampers, stronger rear springs, Weitec front springs) but it still looks a little high in the front There isn't a lot to do to mine at the moment; it's just had a full inspection at Rinner with new OSS and on Friday it went straight through the MOT I'll have to replace the front pads and discs in 5k or so but that's not difficult or expensive. Fit the Waeco seat heaters (already bought) Fit the heated mirrors (already bought) Finish the cruise control (just got to connect the wires & code) May get round to a double din dash swap (I have the dash, don't have an RNS-E yet) Tweak the Bose (half way between the Bose connected & not connected would sound about right) Basically this year will be about using and enjoying him on a few holidays, I want to spend money on travelling not new toys

I'll get up to speed over the next couple of days

Excellent! I'd wondered about this but not got any further than that. I hate the original one, I hate not being able to get a consistent reading and having to rely on the oil light. Another job added to the list Thanks!

It should've been fun but wasn't 100% so, the Belgian motorways were not so good last night and I ended up sleeping in the car. 27hours to get home from Basel...still, apart from the mist hiding Konstanz and the Rhein it was brilliant, especially when I remembered I had a cheap camera with me that I fixed to the visor and took some videos with The next job is to come with a money-making scheme for February
-
Greets from Bad Tölz He is fixed, serviced and very clean I have no need to rush home so he'll be going via Innsbrück to Basel tonight and then follow the Rhein home, it should be fun

Got the winter wheels on (Audi 100 wheeltrims ) and the Nightbreaker Plus fitted but now it's snowing heavily here, I won't get the cruise finished I'm nervous about getting the ferry from Dover knowing what the weather does to the roads over here

^^^ Did it change on model year or engine code? I have a 2 chassis AUA -
^^^ Ferry booked for 04:50 Sunday The winters are now fitted to the steels, I'll pop outside in minute and swap them over with the summers; it's -5 here already, should help me get used to what is to come.... I haven't had any contact back from the pension though I'll try googling another number. Oh and almost got the cruise done, I need to connect the wires to the brake pedal switch and the white/blue plug. Any tips? Nightbreaker Plus arrived in today's post A busy day tomorrow
-
I will have winter tyres on, I've got Semperits ready to fit. They should have been fitted already I know but a friend hasn't been helpful and I only got the steel wheels I'm fitting them to from him yesterday I'm getting a bit stressed now, I hate things being left to the last minute, I hate things not being fully organised
-
Eek! The winters will be on for the trip...as soon as I've taken the old tires off of the steel wheels, they should have been taken off before I got them Sunday is going to be a long day.....
-
I'll go down past Reims and on from there, I've not been to those parts before. A couple of days to go, the car is still on summer tyres, it's stucl outside with half-fitted cruise and it's snowing well. I miss having access to a workshop
-
That's ok, that's what I was thinking of, the only difference is where you have the cap I'd carry on to the edge. How much would one cost?
-
I'll try and get a spare tray to tinker with. I haven't tried fibreglassing for years (and no sure I achieved anything then!). I've got a couple of Bose 23cms to use but in many respects I wouldn't mind starting again without it...never happy Stanni, if you have a spare for sale....
-
I want one!
-
I may have enough thick cardboard to make a template but I'd like to use fibreglass to take in the volume of the jack and all the curves as well. I don't have the skills though:( I'm thinking use a 100w single channel amp run from the A2 woofer out to a 9 (or 2) in the boot through a pot to adjust the level (for OSS open/closed). I still have a play with the A6 amp
-
It's quiet now, tape and rubber seal to secure it for the trip I'll try and remember to take pics... Should I carry snowchains in that region?
-
My thumb is like that also, worn the skin off and it's rather sore...oh well! I may try laying some of the matting left on top of the box under the flap to see if that helps deaden the mid kick.
-
While waiting (again) for someone to deliver my winter wheels (who didn't show again ) I thought I'd try something with the Bose woofer box. It's always sounded too middle deep for my liking so I thought I'd try a bit of wadding inside, partly to soften the midbass kick, partly to try and make the volume effectively larger. These pics show the woofer uncovered (a 5.25" used in many Bose boxes) and the empty box. It may have been worthwhile sticking some sound deadening pads to the side but I didn't have any hand. The Passat padding (from a 3B warranty job after plenum leak) was hacksawed to fit and wedged inside. I did try scissors but the pic will show why I stopped.... For fans of Blue Peter - not many of you I guess - here's one I prepared earlier... It'll be a while before I can tell if it sounds any different because the false floor and load cover have been removed to load an interior for delivery so the acoustics will be different to normal anyway I hope it'll help a little but I still want to make more changes!
