Program If the winter's too warm, we have to go north. Therefore: we will be going either to Hyvinkää (near Lahti / Helsinki) or Tahko (near Kuopio). Tahko is around 50km from Kuopio and 450km from Helsinki harbour. This is why there are two programs below with different times; depending on where we're going, things change slightly. Tahko Timetable Track location: 63.256965 N, 28.043289 E Accommodation location: 63.259475 N, 28.043289 Thursday, 25.2 0300 - ferry from Travemünde, Group 1 Friday, 26.2 0300 - ferry from Travemünde, Group 2 Friday, 26.2 0700 - Arrival in Vuosaari, Group 1 - Drive to Lahti (ca. 1hr) - Skijump Museum, bit of shopping, some acclimatisation, early Lunch. 1200 I pick up my daughter from school. We leave, heading for Kuopio. 1600 Arrival at Overnight stop 1. Food, Sauna, time to play in the snow and drink a couple of beers. I will confirm the location later. Sat 27.2 0700 - Group 2 arrives in Vuosaari. They hit the road immediately. Sat 27.2 1200 - collection point at the Puijo Tower in Kuopio. Anyone who is coming from alternative directions - this is where we'll pick them all up. For Group 1, this means a couple of "spare" hours to check out Kuopio, go sledding, pick up provisions (which we'll do for the rest of the group as well). The ferry to Stockholm leaves from in town, the German one from Vuosaari which takes an hour or so in traffic. Places to go: Kiasma, the market, some souvenirs, the cathedral, the designmuseum. The Stockholm ferry; you'll need to leave around 1500, for Vuosaari around 1600. Wed 3.3 evening arrival in Travemünde Costs Accommodation ca. €150 + €25 in Helsinki In Lahti it's slightly more expensive, Tahko is cheaper. Lahti is fewer kms, though. 800 fewer. Training costs Depending on the track, location, trainer. If professionals are too expensive, we're going towards talented amateurs Track costs for Hyvinkää: limit as far as possible to €50 / car Training costs will be seperate, max €100 (if we work with the talented amateurs, it's going to be minimal) so max total ca. €150 / car

Right, news. Hyvinkää will be booked, it will be a shared session on Sunday at least with the Subaru club. We'll know more about that on Thursday. I have a pair of 'standby' instructors (they're not professionals but they *do* know what they're talking about, I've seen them in action). I'll go through the list of exercises with them. Next on the agenda: more instructor people, accommodation. If Lahti is possible, it is most definitely preferable. Means more time for interesting stuff. I will confirm that we can get onto that lake (Vesijärvi, not the big one) - if it's frozen enough - on the Monday. So, track 2 is looking good, let's get track 1 sorted. Bret

Nur weil es EU ist, heisst längst nicht dass es keine Zölle zu zahlen sind - die sind aber meist eigentlich schon in Ankunftsland zu bezahlen (in diesem Fall Deutschland) und die sind de facto 0.
