okay, sorry, i'm going to post this in english.

 

i just got back from sweden, i'm tired and hungry, but this needs to be written.

 

i am extremely disappointed with what the audi radio does to the original sound.

 

i have a little box called an MP3+ from creative. It's a USB soundcard. it works. its quality is OK (not brilliant, but OK) and the output is _reasonably_ linear.

 

unlike the audi radio.

 

I have at the moment various parts of my car in peices (as usual), and the cinch cables to go to my signat amp for the rear and the front are available. a thought occured to me on the way home from the airport: what happens if i plug the cinch cables directly into the MP3+? i can control the volume anyway from the laptop supplying music via a cassette adapter; the rest is fine.

 

i move the plugs.

the frequenzgang of the radio basically: pumps the bass; removes the stuff >10kHz, and compresses everything together. some of this is doubtless the cassette's fault, but the overall impression is so negative it's scary.

 

and it really does appear to cut off above 5-10k: i will do some more testing when i can. in the mean time... i think the radio's coming out.

How do you know the radio cuts all the stuff off above 5 kHz? Did you measure this or is it just your subjective impression if you compare to earplugs? Or why is that linked to the MP3 player? Think the radio does the same with whatever source...?!

I think YOu are wrong somehow.

 

I do use a MP3-player for two weeks or so. It is just not as lout as the radiosignal is, but this is because of the Line-out loudnes of the MP3 player.

The sound is good quality.

 

Am I right in understanding?:

 

Do you realy use a cassette-player adapter (with cable, which comes out from the cassette)?

 

This is definit loosing Quality. A magnetic stripe of course is even more bad. (this cuts off the high frequencies)

 

But the magnetic head is anyway not perfect.

sooo....

 

als ich damals alles eingebaut hatte, merkte ein bekannter an: "da ist nichts mit 10kHz"... er ist amateur-sound-ingenieur.

der kassettenadapter die ich habe war am KH-Ausgang von mein Arbeitslaptop. Ich hatte den an den MP3+ geschnallt - wow - höre mal der unterscheid.

 

und dann noch direkt angeschlossen.... da sind meine höhen. der luft. die verschiedene drähte des Musiks (nehme .... Keb'Mo, Patricia Kaas, the Coors' "home") - alles ist urplötzlich da. und kein "BUM BUM" bass, sondern ausgewogen, tief, trocken, klar.... ich war erstaunt.

 

ich kann es schon nachvollziehen dass was im Radio "abgestimmt" ist; so ein frequenzgang hatte ich nicht erwartet.

mehrere mit anderen ausbauten haben es auch gemerkt, dass dieser abstimmung besonders mit anderen Lautsprecher "probleme" macht in dem dass er nach eine weile einfach schwierig ist zuzuhören.

 

ich werde auf jeden fall mir jetzt ernste gedanken machen, ob ich der radio komplett rausschmeisse; ich habe ja noch ein USB-Radio rumliegen und wenn ich noch ein empfänger für PC mit TMC finde ist es definitiv raus.
