Hi Al,

 

I am sporting a PQ25 and cannot confirm your findings.

However since the geometry is a bit different, maybe you just now notice that your steering pump is missing fluid.

You might want to check that first. (And yes, an alignment can also mitigate that to some extend)

 

The pump reservoir is the chunky green fellow just below the driver's side (passenger side for you, mate ) main light. Remove that light and you can see the cap.

Thank you for the reply. Do you notice much difference in steering with the  new subframe?

My fluid was slightly down, but my rack had been leaking slightly.

When my car was up on stands the steering was fine, just stiff when in the ground. I'm told that bad caster could be the problem.

Did you use the long PQ25 wishbones? There are PQ25 axles with 15mm shorter wishbones and PQ25 axles with longer wishbones. For the A2 you need the long wishbones.
