Bearings from RUF autoteile

Recommended Posts

Hello

I do not write German very well so I will try in English Just had a near death experience with an A2 1.2tdi when a front wheel bearing broke. I want to warn you for these Chinese FAG copies sold by RUF autoteile.

Thanks!

Peter from Sweden

WTF?

A) How do you know it is a FAG fake?

B) Did you contact RUF about the incident? If yes, what was their statement?

This is not a FAG fake, its RUF Aftermarket.

I was about to buy one of these, before I red their feedback.

I thought worst thing that can happen is that it fails after short use but never that it falls apart!

How did this happen exactly? Did you notice something before it broke?

To me it seems that the inner teeth are worn out too!

The bearing was less than a year old and about 30000km. It just happened when overtaking a lorry at around 100km/h. No warnings or bearing noise before the failure. Inner teeth are fine. I have emailed RUF-autoteile but I have no response from them so far.

This is not funny anymore! RUF should be taken to court!

I'm glad you are alive!
