Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and I have a problem with the sunroof. Browsing the forum I found a person who replaces the entire roof, if I'm not mistaken in Stockholm. Can you help me find the contact? I have to ask him some things. Thank you all

Hi Ivan,

I repair OSS but am located in the south of Germany near Stuttgart.

Anyway regardless of the failure the OSS does not need to be replaced. ALL failures can be fixed and I have a solution for any possible damage.
Depending on the damage it may be necessary to remove the OSS to fix it and later insert again. Only in very rare cases a replacement with a refurbished used OSS makes sense and may be cheaper than fixing the existing sun roof. I always have used and refurbished OSS on stock.
If you need any assistance send me a personal message.

Ciao Ivan,

Ho sempre usato e ricondizionato OSS in magazzino.

Nick

Hello Audi NV,

OSS has only one motor but 2 spiral wires to open/close the movable glass roof parts, which are pulled or pushed by the gear from the motor.

In your case most likely the spiral wire is broken off at one side of the 2 sliders. This can be fixed with the spiral wire repair set.
Regarding the leaking roof, you have to check the water drains on each side of the roof underneath the rear fixed segment. This is the section between 2nd moving glass and the trunk. These are probably blocked and therefore water leaks into the battery compartment. You can clean them e.g. with a long tie wrap.

Tried to open my OSS first time today, now that we have one day without rain.

But when I push the open button, I can hear gear grinding and glass will only open like 1cm, when I give it a litte push, from passenger side front corner, it opened all the way after that, without extra noises.

Those hooks on both sides are broken, but still functional for now. New ones are needed for sure.

But the question is, where to get parts and what parts do I need to get, to fix this.

Driving to Germany and get this fixed is too expensive, due to the long distance and expensive boat trip.

When I close the roof, it goes fine about 2/3 way. The last 10cm I hear the grinding noise and only the right side goes down, left side stays up and the front edge is slanted. Is that fixable or not?

And those hooks. The counterparts in the glass don't even touch them at any point.

Most likely the plastic connection between spiral wire and slider is broken, thats why your OSS does not close completely anymore. In order to close the roof with this problem properly you have to remove the motor (tightened with 3 screws) underneath the interior light and then manually close the roof using a long and small Screwdriver pushing one of the 2 noses as seen in the picture all the way towards the front windscreen until the first sliding glass is completely closed and the sliding lockers on each side of the roof insert into the hooks. It needs some force to close it, but no risk of damaging anything, when you attach the screwdriver correctly (right in front of the small bolt with the secure clip).
The 2 broken hooks can be reworked. You habe to remove the broken plastic tip and the use a fine file to add a angle to the hook again, make it look same as before. The length will be reduced by approx. 5-6mm but that does not harm the function…

To fix the broken slider you can order a wire repair kit from me. How to install this repair kit is shown in this Youtube video…
