  1. Hallo! OK I removed teh gearbox and managed to look inside - the 3/4 selctor fork is not broken. But it has some burn marks! Only tiny amount of metal swarf on magnet. No bearing damage. What could cause this? Maybe selector fork movement needs adjustment? MfG
  2. Replaced accumulator and selector ball jointed rod, topped up gearbox oil. The car drove perfectly for 10 mins until 4th selected on dual-carriage way at 80km/h. The same issue - 4th in speedo DIS but no drive and no change available except managed to get into N and coasted onto services. So think it must be selector fork.
  3. Danke schoen Mankmil I have not tried driving on 4th since the problem started. Maybe I should drain the oil completely and check the magnetic plug for damage. Do you have a repair for clutch actuator 6N0 142 063 A I replaced mine in 2012 but maybe this is again at fault.
  4. I agree with keeping A2 s going as long as possible #scrappingiswasteful however the EV conversion is too expensive at present. You can buy a 3 year old BMW i3 for much less. I have a 2001 benziner 1,4 that burned more oil than a diesel so replaced aua with euro 5 polo cggb 1390cc from 2015. We run the 1,2 TDI since 2002 now with 400,000km and still able to get 3l/100km In Finland they run diesels on #hvo made from waste not food for massive reduction in pollution and better economy.
  5. So took the end cover off and observed the selector fork changes whilst car stationary - doesn't appear to be a loose fork - maybe not broken or intermittent? I will try a new accumulator ( now over 50 gbp!) and gangstellar rod (20 gbp) - Price will probably go up again with brexit! I did notice some hydraulic fluid still seems to be leaking somewhere but all levels good. Then a new basic setting with vagcom. Here are photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/JUKCHKfdjXW2LDXH6
  6. Doesn't need to "stink" -visit Finland - they run cars on HVO made from waste not food for much better economy and massive decrease in all emissions including NOx, PMs usw. We have 17 year old A2 3L and BMW i3 BEV but both consumer 24kWh/100km in winter. Overall the i3 has more to pay back to the environment especially for cobalt mining in DRC and higher road impact PMs from larger tyres and heavier mass.
  7. Vielen Dank Leute! Yes I bought the car in Deutschland in 2002. Now it has 241,000 miles / 400,000km and stil very good car - apart from the gear-change design! I checked the fluid in the car park last night - not real problems there (yes leakage is the most common 1,2 TDI issue for 3L Lupo and A2) So sadly it must me more mechanical as Mankmil suggests. Did you have it welded yourself? A big job to replace? I managed to get home OK without 4th. But will check under the car at the weekend in daylight. MfG
  8. Hallo A2Freunde! Today, after around 10km, the car would not go into 4th gear. I managed to freewheel to a safe stop - switched off and initially the gears were selectable but still 4th no good. Managed to get to work using just 1,2,3 and 5. Maybe mechanical selector issue or Steuergeraet? The basic setting was done in September with no problems and fresh hydraulic fluid. Vielen Dank! MfG
  9. Many thanks, I will try that!

  11. Vielen Dank Leute! So, 1. Rebuilt the N75 valve - no change 2. Bought new N75 valve and fitted - no change 3. EGR works great now it's all celaned up inside. 4. Checked the PD adjustment (max compression of PD spring with adjuster turned back 180 degrees) - all OK No smoke, car ticks over OK but Torsion (deg CF or KW auf Deutsch) a bit high around 6 Still over fuelling - poor around 7 litres/ 100km
  12. Hallo aus England! Leider hab ich probleme mit mein 2001 Audi A2 1,2 TDI. Es hat keine Kraft untem 2400rpm. Also, auf Englisch: The car went in to garage for PD injector clean and new seals - white smoke and stalling only when cold with Klima on. Other than that is was running great and returning 3l/100km regularly. Acceleration was no issue. It came back ticking over ok but was completely gutless / without power or torque. I ran VAGCOM/VCDS and found it underboosting below 2400 to 3000 rpm and using too much fuel - more than double. It's around 7 litres/100km at 100km/h and it struggles to get to that speed. I can post the VCDS log of rpm, fuel consumption, boost pressure and Injection quantity if interested. Any ideas much appreciated. I have already: 1. Checked all the vaccum side and solenoids 2. Swapped over turbo from another I had in stock (no jamming issues of VNT) 3. Run Molyslip Purge cleaner through the injectors from can. 4. Had a look under camshaft cover - the injetors seem OK but maybe 1 or 2mm slightly more to one side than normal. All the stretch bolts were replaced. 5. Checked & cleaned EGR and exhaust manifold. Best wishes Lukas 20180507CleanedInjStd.CSV
  13. Ist das moeglich? What parts would be needed to run? ECU?
  14. Hallo, Happy Easter! the car must get wheel alignment now the suspension has been replaced - what settings for front Camber/Toe/Castor are needed with KAW springs 50V/30H and Bilstein B8V/B6H? MfG Lukas
  15. Vielen Dank! OK I got the VA B6 changed to B8 by Bilstein in UK. Now I just need to know about the PUR buffers. So it's ok to just use a dust cover on the VA? Then rears are 8z0 512 1316 (140mm) or 6q0 512 131b (123mm)? MfG
  16. Hallo folks, For the 1.4 AUA, I bought KAW 50/30 springs and Bilstein B8 VA and B6 HA. Also Febi Bilstein 13012 kit for VA which says it works for Audi A2 However I am stuggling to fit the Domlager with these PUR buffers - do I need them on VA with B8s? Or must they be modified? Also on HA - what amount needs to be cut away 20mm ? MfG Lukas

  20. Question: lowering a2 [Archive] - Audi A2 Owners' Club
  21. Thanks Bret, Alas the 1.4 Benziner is much lighter than the 1.4 TDI and 1.6FSI with KAW Springs so the displacement should be a lot less than those cars? There are several on the A2Freun.de forum who have used B6 sucessfully with KAW Springs. Also KAW seem to use a version of the standard Shock absorber - not short like B8 for their own range? K.A.W. Sportfahrwerk Audi A2 günstig kaufen Schnelltreker mentioned using shorter ARB drop links a while ago from BMW? In any case which rear spring rubbers 4mm or 11mm?
  22. Any ideas on the suspension rubber heights? Also any recommendations for the drop links - standard or shorter like BMW? Any experience of alternative Gummilager like Superflex? Vielen Dank! MfG
Vielen Dank! MfG
  24. Take it to Dennis in Denmark or a German garage that knows the 3L Dennis : djmail at stofanet dot dk He has fixed A2 1,2 and Lupo 3Ls since they were first available.
