Hallo aus England! So folks, I ordered B6 rear and B8 front but now the supplier says 4 week wait for the B8 and I have TuV in 2 weeks! I tried to get Wietech 30/30 but now only ST available which is designed for higher axle weights not 770kg? What other springs are recommended? KAW? Spax? No more Eibach or ABT available? A2-D2 - is the H&R ARB kit still available at Club prices? MfG Lukas

OK I think we have found the problem - the intake pipe from the intercooler running into the EGR valve was off! I don't know how it could have come off - maybe the spring / hose clip blew off or was fatigued? I have not tested the car above 40 km/h as yet but it is much quieter!

Re: EGR I will test this tomorrow - IO cleaned it up when I refitted the turbo last year. Vielen Dank

Hallo A2 Freunde ! Jetzt auf Englisch: My A2 1.2 TDI which I have owned since 2002 has been a fantastic machine despite the usual problems with hydraulic gear system, sooted up Variable Vane Turbos, anti roll bar mountings, and handbrake wear. Today I exceeded 207,000 miles (333 t'km) and there was a strange noise like a "pop" from the exhaust which now runs very loudly and more deeply. This must also affect the fueling as the throttle response is poorer. I will look under neath the car tomorrow. Any one replaced the exhaust system on a 1.2TDI? Appreciate your help and advice. Schoen Guten Abend aus England! OK so the insurance company now says they will not repair my 1.2 TDI even though the damage is low. The Audi Dealer now wants more to fix (original quote was £1700 now they say £4000!!!! - but thye are quoting £100/hour and all new parts). It should be possible to buy the car back from the insurers and rebuild. Can anyone suggest a good source for parts? If it is too expensive i would like to keep the car for spares and buy another 1.2 TDI - are there any good ones for sale in Germany/Holland? Vielen Dank! MfG Lukas

Dear A2 fans, After over 10 years of A2 3L use a Ford Focus took a corner too tightly and swiped my A2's smile from it's face. The damage appears cosmetic but I would value your advice as the Insurance company want to write the car off! I saw the car after strip down on Friday and could find no evidence of chassis damage. The Alloy lower bumper was of course compressed at the corner where the Ford hit. the car drives straight and there are no signs of damage to the suspension or shock absorber/spring mounts. See: Audi A2 1.2 TDI Damage I noticed the bumper holders point out from the forward bulkhead with a slight angle (outwards) on both sides. To the untraiend eye it miught look like the box section has been pushed sideways but I believe the cars were made this way? Does anyone have any maufacturing drawings or photos from Neckarsulm to confirm the angle of these forward pointing lower bumper/fender struts? Vielen Dank! MfG Lukas

1. Yesterday I changed the gasket/seal on the gangsteller and put in new hydraulic fluid. When I started the car it would not go into any gears just the letters S,R,N,E,D. Is it possible I put the parts back wrongly? The 2 pistons - small end at the bottom ? Maybe i need to make basic setting with laptop/VAGCOM first? 2. The engine no longer starts in S, only in N. Any ideas? MfG

Hier in England haben wir viele Schnee aber keine Winter Reifen 145/80R14 sind verfeugbar. Ich habe nur alten Continental 710T Winter Contact reifen 145/80R14 und Bridgestone B381s fuer Sommer. Ist 165/70R14 T OK? Conti 800 order Goodyear UG7+ ? Vielen Dank - bitte mein Deutsch vergeben!

Thanks Martin, I have posted photos of Gangsteller etc here: MobileMe Gallery and MobileMe Gallery Managed to remove the G162 and voltage range was 0.47V cable pulled out to 4.34V pushed in. Is this OK? The manual recommended 1.5 to 4.5 V? Put it all back together with 1.88V on zone 002 gearbox measurement block. Yes all fault codes always removed before basic setting. Unfortunately I forgot the clip for the hydraulic pipes into the Gangsteller so lost most of the fluid during basic setting and now need to buy some more before I can run VAGCOM again.

Vielen Dank Martin, Not sure about the Brake sensor - no error codes on VAGCOM for the brakes. Brake lights are working correctly. I have released the Hydraulic pressure and disconnected the Hyd Pump in order to set the 1.9V on clutch cable. As soon as reconnected / on / off ignition, it goes to over 3.5 V ans clutch cable is pulled. Basic Setting 014 gives RTFM message half way through.

Tut mir leid aber hier auf Englisch: A2 stranded! - Andy ideas from VAGCOM experts? I'm struggling along with my 2001 A2 1.2 TDI (183,000km now). Was hoping to take family away for Easter but have had gearbox trouble! There was some leakage from the G40 gear controller so I took it out and cleaned up and checked gaskets and pipes. All back together ready for basic setting. But my VAGCOM crashed part way through and ever since then with Hydraulics on the Measuring block for Gearbox filed 002, is not 1.9V but 3.93V - so the J514 controller is in emergency mode. I tried to release the hydraulic pressure and reset Clutch cable Volts back to 1.9V. Fine until hydrualics start up again. How do i interrogate and erase erros codes in the geabox comuter memory without and VAS 5051A? I just have VAGCOM and laptop! No error codes come up on my system. Car will not start and we can't go on holiday!
