It's built a little differently, and I have some doubts that it measures exactly the same thing as the original.

Do they stop the error in the dashboard? in fact that is the most annoying part. If the error in the dashboard disappears it's worth it.

 

It looks like the thinner version does not have minimum level detection. The original has a small strip at the end that looks like it would trigger when the minimum is met. 

You have to be careful to read the oil level like any other normal person with the stick:)) but again if the annoying error disappears from the dashboard than is worth it.

To reach this goal, you just need to install any kind of VAG 3Pin Oil-Level sensor somewhere in dry in the engine compartment.
